Dr Chris Fraser MB ChB MD FRCP has been a NHS Consultant Gastroenterologist at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and private gastroenterologist at The Spire Edinburgh (Murrayfield and Shawfair Park) Hospitals and The Edinburgh Clinic since 2014. Previously he was a Consultant Gastroenterologist at St Mark’s Hospital in Harrow, North-west London and in Harley Street for 10 years, before relocating to Edinburgh.
Dr Fraser’s interests are varied and include acid reflux, laryngopharyngeal reflux, refractory or atypical reflux symptoms, throat symptoms, swallowing difficulties, belching, indigestion (dyspepsia), nausea and vomiting, slow gastric emptying (gastroparesis), electrogastrography (EGG), bloating and gassiness, abdominal pain, food intolerance, sensitivity and allergy, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), colonic dysbiosis, constipation (slow bowel transit), diarrhoea, difficult defecation, faecal incontinence, gut dysfunction relating to connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, small bowel disorders including Crohn’s disease and coeliac disease, gut polyposis syndromes, bowel cancer screening, surveillance and removal of polyps for colon cancer prevention, non-complex inflammatory bowel disease, iron deficiency anaemia, obscure gastrointestinal bleeding and making endoscopy/colonoscopy easier and more comfortable for patients.
